Review: Naked 2 Basics

Oh yes, you got it! Another review~~~~! As soon as I caught wind of this being in Sephora stores in Singapore, I knew I had to get my marathon-worthy shoes on and race out the door to land myself one of these babies and get the review to you guys as soon as possible. BEHOLD, my follow die-hard UD fans/ Neutral/ matte shadow fanatics, the NAKED 2 BASICS Palette. *Cool music ensues*

Hahahaha okay okay, enough with the over-dramatic entrance. Let's get down to business.

Naked 2 Basics Palette
Naked 2 Basics
Such a beauty~~~ Does anyone get as excited as me whenever they unbox a new palette, especially one that you've been eyeing for months and months? Oh come on, I know there are some of you out there, don't try to hide it, hehe. Firstly again as I feel about the first Naked Basics Palette, the packaging on this one is sturdy, compact and sleek. 1UP there, UD, 1UP. The colour of this palette is of course slightly different than the first one, with a cooler, more greyish tone but again, still the same size.

Naked 2 Basics

Top: Naked 2 Basics, Bottom: Naked Basics

Left: Naked Basics, Right: Naked 2 Basics

As you can see, the two palettes in the Naked Basics line are different from each other, with Naked basics being slightly more brown-toned based and Naked 2 Basics being more taupe/grey-toned based. They do both however, share the same 1 non-matte & 5 matte shadows format, although in the Naked 2 Basics palette, Skimp being the non-matte in the palette is more peachy-toned and more of a satin finish (than Venus in the first palette having a more frosty/ satin-shimmer finish). The pigmentation of the shadows, like alot of other UD shadows is impeccable which comes as no surprise, seeing as how I personally feel that UD does  some of the best shadows in the market, especially the mattes.

Naked 2 Basics Swatches  in Natural Daylight L-R: Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal, Undone
Another thing that I have to commend Urban Decay on is that they listened to their audience's gripes of having too many highlight shades in the first Naked Basics Palette and offered more crease/ lid/ outer V shades this time round in the Naked 2 Basics. I love how the creases shades Stark and Frisk are different enough such that you don't feel like you have two of the same shades in the palette that you paid quite abit for. For those who are expecting a crazy dark black or brown that u could use as a punchy eyeliner in place of a pencil/ gel/ liquid liner, this palette I'm afraid doesn't have that like the first installment has. However, for those who like me prefer a semi-dark brown/ grey eyeshadows for eyeliner, this would be such a good one for you.

Overall, UD has done a great job with their second installment and even with their overall Fall collection this year. Kudos to them! Definitely check out their launches for this holiday season and I swear, you will not be disappointed! Another big question we all ask as all their NAKED line eyeshadow palettes come out is: Is the Naked 2 Basics different enough from the Naked Basics palette to render a purchase? My answer would be: YES! If you like the taupes/ greys on your eyes but don't want them too be overly cool, I think the Naked 2 Basics provides a good middle ground between warm and cool.

Grade Breakdown:
Do I like this?: Do you need to ask??!! (yes yes yes!)
Would I repurchase this?: Yes! seeing as how this one is going into my 'likely to hit pan and finish' list!
Grade: A

So my lovelies, what are some of your favourite Urban Decay Products for Fall? Bracing the onset of holidays to come yet? ;)

Stay lovely and happy!~

Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

Hey there my lovelies!

So excited to finally get my hands on this baby after deciding to pass it up the first month it came out in my local Sephora and it totally going out of stock for months and months ahead [sadness]. So, the moment I saw it back in one of my local Sephora I lunged, snagged it and made a run for it to the check out counter. After that (and the purchasing of some other products *guilty*), I knew it was definitely time for a review. So woohoo, let's get on with the review~~'

The palette set I got though did not come with the mini mascara set it originally came with when it was first launched but hey, the price was lowered so Im not one to complain. First of all, the packaging, I like. It has a sturdy cardboard exterior and the part holding the eyeshadow is actually made of plastic, which is nice. Simple and black works for me.

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette: 14 Eyeshadows with one dual-ended brush

The palette still comes with the dual ended brush of which is of good quality and not those that you would just typically toss out in the trash. It also comes with a very comprehensive look book for those who are in need of some guidance should you feel overwhelmed by all the colour in one palette of awesomeness. The layout of the shadows is great with shimmer/glitter on the top and mattes on the bottom. The first row consists mostly of shimmer shadows with glitters, with the exception of S4 which is just more of the shimmer without the glitter that the other shadows in that row have. The second row would be the mattes with no shimmer or glitter in sight. The colour layout of this palette is also totally up my alley. I adore the way the colours are arranged from the  browns to the greys/blacks. The palette has a nice mix of both warm and cool neutrals so its great for those like me who want the best of both worlds.

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette: First Row (Shimmer/ Glitter) L-R: S1 to S7

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette: Second Row (Matte) L-R: M1 to M7

The shadows swatch BEAUTIFULLY. They are very smooth, velvety and blend very well on the lid. Lasting power on these babies are just a dream. I went from wearing them on the lids from eleven in the morning to one at night and they were still on (IKR). The pigmentation on these are excellent no doubt but should I compare them to the likes of the NAKED family from Urban Decay and other nude/ naked type palettes from LORAC, Too Faced, Stila, The Balm (& the list goes on), these are definitely up there but not the ultimate top. The pigmentation in this sense is not a bad thing that it isn't at the top as it allows more room for easier blending and less patchiness. Another thing I must say about the shadows in this palette is that, the mattes seem to perform better in terms of smoothness and pigmentation but neveetheless as a whole eyeshadow palette, they work so well together. The only thing I would say you should look out for is the slight fall out you might face with the shimmer shadows but nothing that belongs to the 'OMG look at all this fallout now I have to remove and redo my makeup *grumble grumble*' category.

Overall, if you are one of those self-proclaimed 'live for the neutral palettes and must get your hands on every single one of them' type makeup junkie (like myself *ehem*), this is one that you should totally grab and stash in your makeup arsenal. Or if you are just looking to pamper yourself or just looking for a nice inclusive palette, this is also one that you could possibly get your hands on! Smashbox did a wonderful job on this palette and I definitely look forward to trying more of their products!

So! Grading Breakdown:
Do I like it?: Yup! Definitely!
Would I repurchase it?: Yes (if I would actually get through one full one that is~ hehe)
Overall Grade: A-

So, are you lovin' or hatin' this little box of treasures? What are some of you favourite Smashbox products? ;)

*(The Smashbox Full Exposure Palette is available at Sephora stores in Singapore at SGD $73.00)

Stay lovely!

Review: Catrice Ultimate Colour in 020 Maroon

Hellooooooo everyone! It's been such a lonnnnnnggggg timeeeeeeee (idk how many Ns and Gs and Es I can put here to show that) since the last post. How are you guys doing? :) Well I hope! So sorry about the ultra long hiatus, school, travel and all things hectic have just been INSANE.

BUT back in business!! What better way to start again than in the Fall/ Autumn Season (well...in Singapore yes it is still summer but hey, nothing wrong with going with the fashion and beauty flow of things~)

So! What do we have here today? Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has been in all the rage with Kylie Jenner's look, simple neutral eyes with a rockin' vintage cat eye and those blush/ rose-brown / nudish lips, man I won't deny that that look is also one of my all time favourites. Classy, nothing garish but yet packs such a sophisticated punch. So, with that, I'm gonna review a beautiful lippie for you guys that can get you that Kylie Jenner lip without having to hear the screaming cry of your wallet. Sounds good?*wink*

Helloooo drugstore lippies! Gotta love 'em. Don't get me wrong, luxury brand lippies are such great 'im-gonna-treat-myself' luxuries once in awhile but nothing beats getting amazing quality without having to burst them pursestrings. I have a few favourtie brands I always go to when I hit the drugstore, stalking their collections closely and pouncing like a tiger whenever something new rolls around. (hey, don't judge, I know you do it too) Catrice is one of those brands on my makeup 'hit-list', such great quality for such a great price. I have so many things from their line and none of them have really failed to impress me or at least, not make me throw anything away with disdain. Their lipsticks are nothing short of impressive, with a variety of lipstick lines and not mention, the different finishes and colours. Definitely one of the hunting grounds for a lipstick junkie (like *cough* my- *cough* self).

With that, the spotlight today rolls on Catrice's Ultimate Shine lipstick in 020 Maroon. If you are those who get all excited on their toes for those brown-pink/ rose-brown/ blush-brown lippies, this is one of those you would definitely want in your makeup arsenal.

Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipstick in 020 Maroon (under natural light)
Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipstick in 020 Maroon (under natural light)

Gorgeous. Maroon is a really pretty rose-brown that has a cream finish. It's one of those colours that isn't really a strict MLBB type of shade but it just packs a a little oopmh that makes it perfect for fall/ autumn and winter. I really love how this shade makes your whole look come off polished and sophisticated. I personally like pops of colours and lip stains on my lips but this is one of those that I reach for whenever I want something not that bright but still makes you look somewhat more polished and ready for the day.

Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipstick in 020 Maroon (under natural light) Hand swatch
Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipstick in 020 Maroon (under natural light)
Overall, you gotta love this lippie. Pigmented, creamy and doesn't dry your lips out. I really love how I can put this on and go, no need for liner, no need for any long lip routine, nada. Of course, I wouldn't say this is a long wearing one, you would have to touch-up after eating and drinking extensively but apart from that the colour does stay on well. The packaging, like most of Catrice's lipsticks is great. Secure, sturdy and looks nice for a drugstore lipstick. What more can I say? Love it! If you are new to Catrice or their lipsticks, definitely check this one and other shades that you may love out!

The breakdown
Would I repurchase?: In the land of  'I will actually finish my makeup' (hahaha), yes, ja, oui!
Overall Grade: A-

That's all for today, beautifuls! So, who else is loving fall/ autumn and these 'Kylie Jenner type' shades? I know I do (and of course bring on the vampies too)!!!!

REVIEW: SASAtinnie Ultimate Deep Repair Wheat Protein Hair Mask

Ahh, hair hair, locks of lust and glamour. Yet, they don't come easy. Beauty always has a price. ;) Review time my beauties (and hunks)! Today, it's gonna be on a hair, which I rarely do [since I can be a lil lazy bum when it comes to hair care sometimes lol but hey, gotta start somewhere ;)] Today's star is the SASAtinnieUltimate Deep Repair Wheat Protein Hair Mask [what a mouthful!]. For all those who don't deal much with Asian cosmetics, the brand SASA is something like an Asian Sephora, carrying TONS AND TONS of many different brands from various countries of the world, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, USA, you name it, it's there. I like to pop in there once in awhile to catch up on some Asian cosmetics and beauty, especially considering that there is one situated so insanely near my house. And ever so often, I manage to exit with a little gem or two much to my delight AND guilt. Lol. This happened too with this cool hair mask, as it was on clearance SGD$2 [?????!!!!!!!!!!!!]. Of course, I had my doubts seeing the price difference [i believe it was $7.90? Don't quote me on that] but oh what the heck! I might as well try it since I was going start my 'be better to my hair' resolution. I'm no stranger to hair mask for I've tried quite a couple which were really good but discipline was the one that got me down all the time.

Okay, so the product comes in a simple conventional squeeze-tube-type format which I am all for. Easy, simple, convenient. Check. The smell of the product [it comes out as a white opaque cream btw] is nice and pleasant, nothing overpowering or repulsive. Its scent reminds me of a faint pleasant honey and oats scent, which I really like. This little baby promises Moisture, Shine and Deep Repair. Now, I have very long [pass my chest area; at the end of where my ribcage ends] with super dry ends. [sigh]. So, naturally, I was curious to know what this product was going to do for my hair. So in the shower, after the usual shampoo, I slathered this on, concentrating on my ends. [I sometimes skip conditioner when I use a hair mask, but of course that's just me. Up to you! ;)]. Waited for a minute or two before rinsing it off. OOOOO. Even as I was going through my hair with this, I could feel it smoothening my hair and feeling a little more 'moisturised'. NICE. Talk about moisture surge. After my hair dried and having combed once through, I could feel my hair being softer and smoother which of course made me ecstatic. Also, the fact that it cost me two bucks for such a nice product made me just over the moon. For the price, this is definitely a steal. I wouldn't say it is the most revolutionary product on the market but hey if it can make my hair smell good AND smooth and much less dry than it is [believe me, it is DRY.], I am definitely all for it! [FYI, after two weeks of buying this, I saw it still on offer but in a different SASA branch than the first one I went to, I immediately bought five more bottles. SUCH A GEM FOR THE PRICE. GOTTA LOVE IT.]

Do I love it?: For the price and the quality it delivers, oh yea!
Would I repurchase?: I think I just might [if I ever make it through the six tubes I own].
Grade: A-

What are some of the products that you love to use for your luscious locks? ;)

Stay happy and healthy, rapunzels!

REVIEW: Daiso Eyeshadow Palettes

Happy Thursday everyone!! It's Thursday already????! When did that even happen! I still feel like it's a Monday or Tuesday at most. Is it me or did the months of 2013 go by even faster than ever before? Crazy Ride everyone, crazy ride but anyway! Yay for putting up another review haha! Was cramming for a quiz for tomorrow but wanted to stretch my legs and do something a little different from my work today so hence what better way to do that than to type enjoyably about beauty? (IKR) Who's with me??!! *raises hands*awkward cricket chirp* ok moving on...

Haha just kidding folks, but anyway, I enjoy beauty, fashion and lifestyle and enjoy writing about them even more. As a self-proclaimed fanatic of all these things, I am always on the hunt for new prey MUAHAHA at any brand, any place and any time. This post in particular, beauty. Now I love my Sephora and Sasa [some of my second homes other than the supermarket] but Daiso is another place I like to pop into sometimes to hunt for interesting trinklets and bargains. Everything in this snazzy place is SGD$2! Cups, lunchboxes, food, tea bags, stationary and the list goes on....until it hits MAKEUP. Ok I know, I know, I can sense the horror in some when they hear abt the price of the makeup being $2. I don't blame them. We sometimes can't shake the perception of the dollar-to-quality correlation sometimes. Personally for me, I honestly am abit iffy about this when it comes to things I put on my face in terms of makeup and powder especially if I can't pull up many reviews about it on the Net. Personally for me, skincare and skin maintenance is an important aspect so I tend to be a little more careful about the foundations, powders, blush, etc that I buy for my sensitive skin but hey! I love my E.L.F etc too! Eyeshadows, however, I definitely don't entirely eat into that correlation. In my endeavor of trying eyeshadows after eyeshadows, mascara after mascara, eyeliners after eyeliners, I have definitely seen some bad boys from the least of expected places. Who says more inexpensive eyeshadows/ eyeliners/ primers can't get the job done? Nothing makes me feel more awesome beauty wise, when someone compliments my eye look and thinks that I'm adorning crazy expensive when I'm actually used a inexpensive but great quality product to feel like a million bucks! >:)

I always wanted to give Daiso makeup a whirl but somehow never got around to really stop at the makeup aisle to really go into full-on makeup junkie analysis mode like I always do at Sephora or drugstores. But that makeup junkie got activated when I saw Christine (Xteeener on Youtube) sporting some really nice Daiso makeup on her eyes, I knew I had to give them a try. So popped into Daiso and browsed the eyeshadows, hoping to find some that might peak my interest. Believe me I did. Daiso does carry not just one particualr brand of eyeshadow but rather, quite a few models and types. I did notice however, that most of them are with shimmer or glitter in them, varying in intensity and amount of shimmer and glitter though. [Although I did recently manage to pick up one that had some nice mattes in it and that was a rare find actually.] After debating amongst the interesting selection, I finally managed to force myself to only leave with two even though I had a good six of them at least in my hands lol. #achievementunlocked #didntgothatcrazy

Left: Twilight palette, Right: Bronze

Of course, I picked the neutrals to try first, seeing as I'm a neutral lover most of the time. So what better way to test the quality of the product? They came in a few types of colour schemes but I decided to get the two which I would see myself wearing the most in order to test the product fully [aka being able to wear them more frequently]. The palettes are nice and small in a good way with pans that are of decent size. The eyeshadows of these palettes have all shimmery/glittery finishes so for matte lovers.these may not be your cup of tea. However, Daiso does sometimes carry those with some matte eyeshadows in them, so do not fret! I actually really like the colour schemes of these palettes. I have quite a number of eyeshadow palettes big and small but not many of them are of these schemes so they are something a little different for me in a good way!

The Twilight Palette

The Twilight Palette

The Twilight palette [swatches without any primer]
First with the Twilight palette. Is it weird that I keep thinking of Bella and Edward for some strange reason? Ok, ok, focus lol. I was personally really surprised at how pigmented they were when I swatched them with my fingertips, as you can see from the photos. I didn't even have to use much force to swatch them either. Are they the smoothest eyeshadows I have ever come across? No. But are they smooth considering their price point? Yes. Out of the Twilight palette, I was really impressed especially by the warm brown and beautiful peach shades. Love the peach in the crease and the warmth of the brown just pulls the look together. The lighter shades are just lovely for the inner corners and lids to brighten up the look [although I tend to mix the peach and light champagne together for my lid shade]. As I mentioned earlier, these shades do have a little glitter in them, so fall out tends to be inevitable. However, they aren't crazy enough to where you look like a crazy disco ball either. Not too shabby, I must say!

The Bronze Palette

The Bronze Palette

The Bronze Palette [swatched without a primer]
The Bronze palette is something a little bit different for me as I don't own many palette that look like that. Sure, by themselves they don't look all that different from their counterparts but together they do look a little different in their own light. The white and golden bronze shades really blew me away. Look at how pigmented the white is in the photos! Very nice. White, in my opinion, is one of the hardest shades to get right in terms of pigmentation and colour pay-off. Thus, imagine my surprise to see it showing up so nicely on my fingers and lids. Bronze is one of my favourite eyeshadow shades. So GORGEOUS. The bronze in this palette is no different. Very nice pay-off and pretty smooth I must say. The eyeshadows can sometimes prove to be a little chalky but nothing that is unworkable or out of the ordinary. Again, these shades have a shimmer finish and has slightly less glitter in them than those of the Twilight palette. So still, do be mindful of that in terms of fall-out potential lol.

Now, longevity of these palette seems pretty nice and I had no problems with fading or smudging of these eyeshadows through the days which I wore them. I generally prefer mattes over shimmer/glitter so to bring the shimmer intensity down, I tend to use a fluffier brush with them and give a sweep over my lids. LOVE THE EFFECT for that these eyeshadows give me when I do this. Love the looks that these palettes can offer and kinda enjoying using them. What makes me even more excited is knowing the price point of these. YESSSSSS another gem found! However, I have to be mindful of the glitter fall out that happens when I don't tap off access pick-up. Overall, for $2, these are great. I definitely am going to be on a lookout for more palettes from Daiso! This just goes to show that you don't always have to make your wallet weep just to get quality out of your products [although the occasional splurge isn't all that bad either ;)]

Do I like them?: yea!
Would I repurchase them?: Maybe in other colours
Grade:: B+

What are some other inexpensive beauty gems would you guys recommend? ;)

Stay happy, healthy and always hunting [for random beauty gem] guys!

REVIEW: CATRICE GLAMAZONA

Woohoo!! Finally!! Another Review moment! How has things been for all you beauties? Things have been supppper dupppper hectic for me but I am so psyched about doing this review [and a few others XD]. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting in my chair and writing about the things I love in life with a soothing cuppa green tea~ahhhhhhh #thisisthelife. Okay enough blabbering, crazy lady [i know whatcha thinkin' oh yea ;)] and get on with the review!!!!

This collection makes me so excited! Catrice. Another German drugstore brand [with the likes of Essence] that gets me all excited and giggling like a silly schoolgirl. This brand not only offers great price but great quality too! How could I possibly resist anything they come out with. I remember going in full-hoarder mode when I was in Germany during my homestay, being so sad that they weren't available back where I came from. [This pretty much also contributed to my crazy overweight baggage in the end, oops.] Imagine how excited I was when I saw it in one of the drugstores back home a year later [*picture me running around a football field likka player who had just scored a winning goal* not a pretty sight YIKES]. Catrice has great things in their permanent range, which I have yet to completely try out all of its amazing products BUT this collection made me so excited with the beautiful pictures and enticing products up on offer.

Such a cool collection. Fierce looking models, edgy colours, what's not to like?! PLUS ANIMAL PRINTS. AHHHHHHHH ok SOLD. Just take mah money already people! The packaging itself was enough to make me stop, look and buy. Don't you just love it when a drugstore brand takes extra effort to make their products look amazing besides their already good quality and price point? Well, I know I do. I realllly had to hold myself back from getting everything in this line. haha seriously, the animal prints are my favourite. After standing there toying with all these beauties, I decided to grab just the lippies, the liquid top coat and the blushes [and run to the check out before I changed my mind and bought every single thing there]. Let me just say, Catrice has got this collection down to a T. The colour concept is just brilliant. The neutrals are edgy yet wearable and the pops of colours are just bold, lusty and to simply die for. Bold, Rich and Brilliant.

First, the Liquid Top Coat. HOW COOL IS THIS?????!!! When I saw this, I knew I had to get it. Granted, I am more of the matte eye look kinda girl but I sometimes don't mind the shimmer and glitter for the fun of it to spruce up any look. Right of the bat, this baby reminded me exactly of the LORAC liquid lustre that various youtube beauty gurus such as emilynoel83 and xsparkage have gushed about. SO COOL. I know, I know, I won't be exactly using this day and night and as often that I would want to, but hey, it is something different and hard to find, especially where I am living. Plus, a makeup junkie can never have to much makeup right? ;D

In natural daylight
In natural daylight

In natural daylight

As you can see from my hand swatch and awkward eye shots [heehee], this liquid top coat sure is pretty! You want the glamorous shimmer and glitter? You got it. The product comes separated within the bottle so be sure to shake it up well and good before using it. It comes in a dropper style packaging and the bottle is glass and the quality of the packaging is great. Sturdy and classy. You only need a TEENY TINY BIT f this to get it to show. To show you guys how it really looks, I just took some of it and dabbed it on my eyeliner only lid. It would be AMAZING over any eyelook with the eyeshadows and all and is pretty easy to remove when you want to without going all over your face. Really really nice! I would say *dupe alert* as an alternative to the lorac liquid lustre!

01 I'm A Survivor

01 I'm A Survivor
02 I Got The Flower!

02 I Got The Flower!

The blushes were the first too get me in this collection. OMG. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! So beautiful! Everything about them made me hyperventilate. The packaging is cute with the prints #suckerforprints, the imprints on the blushes were cute AND the colours are just PHENOMENAL.Bold bright colours that are just to die for. The pigmentation on these blushes are seriously amazing for the price especially, all you need is a dab for each cheek. I love these kinds of colours for blushes. When blended right, they just give you that amazing out-of-the-cold flushed look. So pretty, perfect for those experiencing Fall and Winter now. But hey, who's to say those in the tropical climates countries [such as myself] can't enjoy these fabulous beauties too? I am floored by these blushes and just cannot get enough of them! I'm A Survivor is a matte bright red with a slight orange lean to it and reminds me so much of the ever-so-famous NARS Exhibit A. Crazy, bright and beautiful. Definitely one of my favourite blushes in my entire collection. I Got The Flower is a pretty matte pink with a muted mauvish lean and is somewhat different from your average blush. Again, so pigmented and pretty and not like anything else I have in my blush collection. These blushes are definitely winners for me!!

Now, *sigh*, once again, the crazy lipstick lady strikes again. Debate on whether to get the lippies or not was definitely the most difficult one for me. Given that I have TONS of lippies [believe me when I say TONS, it's almost illegal], it would be technically not a good idea to not get these. BUUUUUUUUUUUT oh what the heck, I just want them!! Yup there it is, another cave-in moment for me. These colours are me-colours so I just simply could'nt resist the temptation. Boy, am I glad I got them! Lovely colours, I gotta say with the bold red and the more wearable berry-rose.

Swatches in natural daylight Top: I Got The Flower!, Bottom: I'm A Survivor

In natural daylight:  I Got The Flower!

In natural daylight: I'm A Survivor
See what I mean? These lippies are the jumbo-pencil style type lipsticks and deliver great colour. Very smooth on the lips and give a nice shine to the lips as you can see. LOVE THESE. And to think I almost walked away without them *GASP* I can definitely see myself busting these out to wear pretty often and am enjoying every single moment of them. Those of you lippy sisters [and bros] out there, you gotta get yourself some of this.

Overall, Catrice has really done a great job with this collection. Colour concept? Tick. Quality? Tick Affordability: Tick again. I definitely highly recommend the blushes and lippies as they are my favourites out of the whole collection. Though I personally passed on the nail lacquers and eyeshadows, swatching them down at the store showed great promise. The nail lacquers especially are amazing. Such gorgeous colours! Any nail junkie might just wanna grab them all! As for the eyeshadows, they were really promising too with good colour payoff and lovely colours. I would definitely want at least one piece from this wild sexy jungle-themed collection anytime!

*For those living in Singapore, Catrice Cosmetics can be found at selected Guardian (and Guardian Plus) stores (such as Ngee Ann City, Paragon and Vivocity)

Anyone else loving this wild and sassy collection? ;)

Stay wild, sexy and free, everyone! RAWR ;)

Live my life!~ (One of) The magic key(s) to a healthy digestive system: Cardamom

Hey everyone! Today is another one of those posts where we are gonna buzz about health! What's all the wealth and material goods without our health? #YOLO so we gotta make sure that our health stays as one of the top priorities in our lives. I know, I know, life can be so hectic and busy sometimes. With the pressing deadlines, mountain piles of projects and assignments, and maybe the occasional relationship dramas that pop up in our lives, it's hard to keep up and maintain a healthy body. I, for one, can't deny that I'm guilty of that, sometimes skipping meals, having late nights and even when I DO eat meals, I am also guilty for having imbalanced ones. (I can just hear a mob of nutritionists just screaming and coming at me with torches already.)The only thing I can be somewhat 'proud' of is my weekly exercises that I do to try and strike the balance between work and my 'me' time (and of course the occasional 'alone time' shopping trips ;)).

Those crazy late nights, stress and imbalanced diets can sometimes cause our whole system to go out of whack. For me, it hits my digestive system. Recently, I've had one of those periods whereby my digestive system was just not having it. Bloatedness, discomfort after every meal, water retention, you name it. I tried all kinds of ways to help ease these. Drinking peppermint tea, eating more fruits and fibre, exercising more...thought they are by no means ineffective, they barely worked for me. However, in comes this AMAZING MAGIC KEY to my problems *angel music plays*. Hello, lovely life-saving CARDAMOM. My dad has been taking this little baby for quite some time now and I never got why he just keeps gushing about it. Now I do. OMG this is one of those foods that mother nature has so graciously granted us in times like this where we could just feel downright annoyed and frustrated at having to deal with such an uncomfortable disruption to our systems. So yup, you've guessed it, today's shining star for our Live My Life series on SMP blog is the one, the only Cardamom!!! *drum roll*

http://www.sunwarrior.com/news/15-health-benefits-of-cardamom/

So, what is Cardomom? Cardamom can be found natively in the forests of India, Bhutan and Nepal and is now also, cultivated by other countries that support its growth and harvest. With beneficial medical and culinary benefits. Various types of cardamom pods and seeds are commonly used in medicine and cooking and carries unique, strong and intensely aromatic characteristics that are support their wide usage historically and even today! Fun Fact served here for ya: Cardamom is actually theworld's third most expensive spice by weight, outstripped in market value only by saffron and vanilla. How cool is that?!

Benefits of cardamom are many a vast, so I am going to share you with you some of these amazing benefits that this little seed has. Small in size but amazing in its benefits!

Some of the benefits of cardamom include:

1) Detoxifying  your body by eliminating waste through your kidneys

2) Need some more of those antioxidants in your life to resist cellular aging and dumping some of those free radical? Well here it is!

3) Don't you just hate it when you are stuck with painful ulcers in your mouth and an aching throat? Not to mention, Bad breadth? *gasp* Cardamom, like ginger and tumeric, has anti-inflammatory properties to not only help in the healing of such ulcers and sore throats, but also helps in freshening up your breathe (Did you know? In India, cardamom is chewed on after meals for that quick cleansing and freshening up of the breath). More on the throat and nose, cardamom is also a potential answer to preventing and even aid in the healing of colds, flus and coughs!

4) Tired of those ridiculous hiccups that just make you go HICCUP!!!!!!!! on a public bus or in the office? Cardamom serves to relief such muscle spasms by acting as an anti-spasmodic. Not only does it help rid you of hiccups, it can also help with other involuntary muscle spasms from the stomach and the intestinal tract.

5) Okay, this may require more frequent trips to the bathroom but the benefits it has would make it all worth it! Cardamom serves as a diuretic to rid our bodies of excess water and salt, waste and toxins, making our urinary tract, kidneys and bladders oh so squeaky clean!

6) What's the star without another simply brilliant quality???? Of course, you've guessed it! Cardamom aids our digestion!! Similar to its relative the ginger, cardamom can serve as an ever so powerful aid in improving our digestive systems. Say Au revoir to nausea, acidity, excess gas and bloating, heartburn, constipation, appetite loss (and the list goes on...) with some of this little gem in your everyday life!

Other benefits talked about even include, aiding in depression, clearing of blood clots, reducing of blood pressure and more! [Talk about having the power!]

Isn't this crazy little thing amazing or what?! To be honest, if I had not tried this myself in times of my crazy, digestive system gone wild (oh yea, it's way worse than girls gone wild), I would not be here today gushing and going gaga over this little jewel. So how do I incorporate it in my everyday routine you might wonder? For me, it isn't too much of a chore. Some choose to chew and spit the seeds out but I myself prefer grinding them up into powder, throw a TEENSY bit [just A DASH] into my lil' white teacup with some hot water (somewhat of a cardamom tea you might say; the flavour is intense so you don't rly need that much for the kick to come in.). Depending on your preference, adding it to some of your culinary dishes or drinks has proven to be just as easy too! (My dad likes it in his coffee as it gives that unique spicy kick). Whatever floats your boat! So long as it's somewhere, it's going to help you and be your digestive system's new best friend. Oh yea. NEW BFF.

oh yea~thumbs up for da sponge!
Cardamom has definitely helped me in the journey of improving my digestive system and getting it back on track. If you have similar problems [I feel you ><], give this little jewels a shot, They might just be the key to a healthier, cleaner, and happier you! It's working for me and such amazing goodness has to be shared!

Stay happy and healthy!!
